Poem: Rain by Candlelight by Marcia Carrington

RAIN BY CANDLELIGHT by Marcia Carrington

* * * *

 The rain was pouring outside with a healthy insistence

The candlelight flickered on the wall

It was extremely dark inside

In my stomach I felt as if life was casting me a pall.

Never before had it rained so much

I felt that it would never end

But rain cannot continue forever

The weather would, eventually, be on the mend.

Thankful for the soft candlelight

On this gloomy day

It brought to mind visions of grandeur

And the feeling that everything, in the end, would be okay.
